Laura cared for her mother who suffered from Alzheimer's later in life. This experience shaped her deeply held belief that there needs to be more awareness, advocacy, and research to find a cure for a disease that affects millions each year.

Laura believed that all animals were God's gift to us and cared deeply about their safety and happiness. If she had her way, she would have adopted every animal from this shelter to live in her backyard.
